We have no beds; we are a day program only.

A senior center is a different program. Open Arms is a licensed ADHC. License #060000842. Those who wish to enroll must meet the eligibility criteria.

The enrollment process begins by setting an appointment with one of our Social Workers.  To set an appointment, please call (619)420-1404.

Open Arms accepts Medi-Cal insurance. If you have Medi-Cal, then the insurance company pays 100% of the cost. If you prefer to pay out of pocket, please call (619)420-1404 to discuss private pay options with our social workers.

Open Arms accepts: Health Net, Molina, Kaiser, Blue Shield of California, Community Health Group, United Health Care, Aetna, and California Health &Wellness.

Our service area is primarily Chula Vista, Eastlake, Imperial Beach, and National City.

Those with special needs are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our Social Services at (619)420-1404 to discuss your specific situation. 

Prospective participants must be 18 years of age or older.

We definitely do provide assistance with ambulation, eating, and toileting. 

Open Arms does provide meals at the center. The menus are created on a monthly basis and are available at the front desk. To learn more about our meal service, please click here.

Absolutely.  Most of our participants have special diet orders, such as Diabetic Diet and Renal Diet.  Our facility has a Registered Dietitian who specializes in managing medical diet orders and providing guidance for the meals that we serve.

Our program entails Structured Activities, Exercise Program, Meals (Breakfast, Lunch, PM Snack) and Transportation to-and-from the center.

We encourage you to visit our facility, and pick-up a copy of our Activity Calendar. Activity Calendars are available at the front desk.

Yes, indoor and outdoor seating are available at Open Arms.

Participants enrolled in our program, must stay a minimum of four (4) hours per day. The maximum stay will depend on (1) if the family will transport or (2) if Open Arms will transport.

 

(1) FAMILY-TRANSPORT:

If the participant will be transported by the family, then they may be dropped off as early as 7:30 AM, and picked up no later than 3:30 PM.

(2) OA VANS:

If the participant will use the Open Arms van, then their stay will depend on which trip they are on.

1st Trip:  Pick-Up from home approx. 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM.  Dropped off at home approx. 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.

2nd Trip: Pick-Up from home approx. 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM.  Dropped off at home approx. 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

 

We are open Monday thru Friday.  We are closed Saturday, Sunday, and certain holidays.
